Vogue 1454 is an over sized top with an interesting back flounce. It is super simple to sew: you can easily make it in one day . The sample shown is made of cotton poplin as recommended by the designer. However, I think the flounce would drape beautifully if the top were made of rayon also. The neck facing is not interfaced or clipped, according to pattern instructions. Were I to make it again, I would use a fusible tricot knit interfacing and clip around the neck edge to avoid puckers.
The top is over sized (e.g. bust measurement for size 6 is 43″). I made the size 6 (although I usually sew a size 10 for myself). The pattern comes with sizes 6-14 in one envelope and sizes 16 and above in another. Therefore, if you normally sew a size 16 for yourself, you might want to consider purchasing the size 14.
The surface design technique employed is Deconstructed Screen Printing.
