Sally Ball is a fiber artist from the Northwest corner of Arkansas. Her works of fiber art marry various materials and techniques, ranging from traditional methods of working with fibers and textiles, including spinning, dyeing, felting, weaving, quilting, and embroidery, to more contemporary approaches which incorporate materials from other disciplines into the process such as the inclusion of papers and metals. She likes to combine these techniques across different media, to add texture and visual interest to her works of felted art. As an avid hiker and bird watcher she is heavily influenced by wildlife and nature, and these themes figure prominently in her art work. Sally brings a love of process and experimentation to all her creations so her work is constantly in a state of evolution.

Class Details: Artistic Needle Felting Techniques
In this three-hour workshop you will explore the combination of fabric and fiber and learn techniques for needle felting which add impact to felted works of art. Included in the 50.00 class fee are all of the materials needed to complete the sample pieces, plus a wide variety of fibers for use on your larger composition. Felting tools are not included in the price of the workshop, however I do have a classroom set of tools that may be used during the workshop. Class size is 25 students.
Things it would be good for students to bring to class are: a spoon, flexible ruler, and a Sharpie. Also a reference photo (not too complex) to work from for the felted work of art.
I will have felting needles available for purchase for 3.50 for 5 needles or 7.00 for 10 needles.

Creating Art can become a habit, the more you create the stronger the Muse becomes…The creative Muse can come in a whisper, a Dream, in a dance of wild inspiration, or sharing your Soul Self ….Saying Yes to your Artful Muse my take you on a journey of Self discovery and maybe some wild adventures….Your creative self may at times have to have courage to explore new and strange art techniques that your Muse is curious with…but be brave and yes to this calling, this passion….let it lead you to new insight of your creative soul or just give yourself the opportunity to play and explore, to wonder in a world that you have never experienced….Be brave and intentional on whatever art journey you may travel and know that you open your art soul to meeting wonderful creators of art and that you may share your passions, your heart, your story, your support, and your Muse…..
