Greetings to you all!
“First, I hope this post finds you all safe, healthy, and creatively active. In this difficult time staying indoors can be challenging, especially if you love visiting various sites with the intent of sparking your creativity.”
Second, CONGRATULATIONS to our new board members! I also want to thank all that were involved in the process allowing each of us the opportunity to vote electronically.
COVID19 has forced all of us to adapt and change, both personally and professionally. Many of us find ourselves working or creating in an environment we’ve never considered before. One of the things it has not changed is our need to remain a functional and viable organization.
Like many businesses, schools, and programs, the art community has taken a hit financially. We are fortunate that we do not have to rely on other agencies for grants. However, as an organization, FASA relies on its members for support through our dues.
Our dues cover our regular expenses, such as our bookkeeper (by the way, a small business owner who has provided enormous support to our treasurer thus our organization), our liability insurance, our SAQA subscription, and once they reopen, the San Antonio Garden Center just to name a few. We currently have over 160 members. Because of our membership dues, we were able to participate in activities at little to no cost and still pay our bills.
This pandemic will not last forever. Like you, I look forward to future meetings and the sharing of our creativity. But to be ready for the future, we need your support in the form of your dues. FASA membership for new and renewing members begins in June. That’s $35 for the year.
Please demonstrate your support by making your check (no cash please) payable to:
Fiber Artists of San Antonio then simply mail your dues to the following address:

May you stay healthy and safe and continue to practice social distancing.
Until next time,
L, P, & F F
