2020 – Machine stitched face mask. The front fabric used is screen printed and dyed yardage. Hand stitching with embroidery floss and metallic thread. Additional embellishment with beads and plastic shrink film circles.

Entry Statement: The face mask is an iconic remembrance of the conflict in this country about mask wearing in an effort to stave the proliferation of the Covid pandemic. The falling red tears (beads) that dangle represent the anger and anguish of so many lives lost.
