Entry Statement: Like many artists in 2020, I found it challenging to focus, find inspiration or feel creative. Sitting in my studio, frustrated and staring at too many unfinished projects and pieces that never seemed to gel, I started digging through a scrap bag containing bits and pieces of my handmade paper. The strips of paper – some with prints that never quite worked for me, as well as cut out parts of photos – seemed to fit together like a puzzle. I grabbed my sewing machine and started sewing free form, jagged lines and all.
